5 Chutes · 315 Channels · Model HWT-GR5
Smart Sorting for the Mid-Capacity Rice Mill
A rice sorter that combines practical throughput with intelligent automation.
The Hawit HWT-GR5 is a 5-chute machine built to handle 2 to 3 tons per hour under typical working conditions.
It sorts the full range of rice varieties — Basmati, Parboiled, and Raw rice — and does so with an optical system that brings high-end imaging into a mid-capacity platform.
The machine is also equipped with practical features that simplify daily operations: photo capture for traceability, online capacity calculation to track throughput, and mobile operation so you can monitor the sorter without being tethered to the control panel.
As with all Hawit equipment, the GR5 is built around a Toshiba 5400-pixel full-color CCD camera. Customers can specify ejectors from Hawit, SMC (Japan), or Matrix (Italy) to suit their maintenance setup. A high-resolution sorting engine ensures that reject decisions are made with precision, delivering the best rejection ratio in its class.
A camera that catches the subtle flaws.
The Toshiba 5400-pixel HD CCD scans grain at 16,000 times per second. Defects down to 0.04 mm² are resolved with clarity — black tips, pale yellow grains, and chalky kernels are all identified and acted upon the moment they enter the optical path. The RGB full-color tri-chromatic system captures color with such fidelity that even faint discoloration stands out.
Processing that thinks ahead.
The ARM+FPGA processor architecture handles the data throughput without slowing down. Color and shape algorithms run in parallel, so the sorter maintains consistent accuracy at full feed rate. Through the one-key intelligent operation system, operators set the acceptance criteria once, and the machine independently calculates the optimal sorting scheme across all 315 channels.
Lighting that adjusts on its own.
A digital stepless dimming system controls the LED light source. As material characteristics shift or ambient conditions change, the brightness self-calibrates automatically. This ensures the camera always works with a clean, well-lit image, regardless of what is passing beneath it.
A self-checking routine that saves your morning.
Before each run, the system automatically verifies the working status of the camera, control panel, and background board. There is no need to work through a manual checklist — the machine confirms it is ready, and production begins.
Ejectors that last the distance.
High-frequency ejectors are engineered for long life, low air consumption, and fast response. They deliver the kind of reliability that translates directly into lower running costs and fewer interruptions. Whether the choice is Hawit, SMC, or Matrix, the valve block is factory-matched to the machine.
Independent chutes that give you flexibility.
The special feeding system keeps each of the 5 chutes operating as a self-contained sorting lane. Chutes can be combined or isolated based on the contamination profile of the incoming rice, which helps bring down both the rejection ratio and the overall air demand.
Remote control for a connected mill floor.
The Hawit cloud service platform enables real-time tracking, monitoring, and data collection. Operators can control the machine remotely, perform software upgrades, and diagnose problems — whether they are related to LED lamps, electronics, mechanical components, or parameter adjustments — without waiting for a service visit.

The GR5 is assembled with components selected for long‑term reliability. At the imaging core is the Toshiba full‑color CCD, paired with a Phoenix customized industrial lens that delivers sharp, wide‑range resolution. Processing is handled by Intel and ATI DSP+FPGA chips, ensuring fast, consistent signal handling. Power management relies on Mean Well supplies and Schneider switches, while the pneumatic circuit is protected by SMC filters. An active heat‑dissipation system keeps internal electronics at room temperature, preserving a clean signal‑to‑noise ratio. The true‑color touchscreen and intelligent image‑recognition software complete a package that is designed to maintain accuracy run after run.
